I would definitely recommend Drive, starring Mark Dacascos - the best Hong Kong action movie not made in Hong Kong.
Make sure you get the region 2 special edition.

Crying Freeman and Brotherhood of the Wolf were both directed by Christophe Gans, and I love them both.
And I really enjoyed Mark in tv series "Crow: Stairway to Heaven"

Thanks, I will definitely check out Drive special edition. :)

Awwh, it was a shame that they didn't carry through with the Crow series, wasn't it? I also thought that Mark was excellent as the main character. If anyone else had to combine action and emotional acting bits, they would have come across as somewhat uncomfortable.

I too would recommend Drive as Mark's best movie so far. The Crying Freeman was stylish but doesn't really show off his skills. I do remember movie where the fight scenes were pretty good but sucked as a movie. Luckily, I can't recall the name at all. Could be an unconcious defence mechanism. :D

Except for most of his Hollywood movies, I really like all of Jackie's work. Especially when the whole gang was there like in Meals on Wheels, My Lucky Stars, Dragons Forever and some others.

Jet Li isn't really among my favourite kungfu action stars but Once Upon a Time in China, another movie where he reprises the role of Wong Fei Hong and Fearless were really exciting to watch.

I think the list needs to include Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa. Donnie's practically a legend now and Tony's movies have such a real and gritty look to it and his stunts are really something to see. The single uncut fight sequence through the spiralling tower in Tom-Yun Goong was easily one of the most awesome choreography in a martial arts sequences I've seen in a while.

I agree. Jet Li has lots of potential but he has not really portrayed that in his movies, especially the recent ones. Hey hey, great idea about Donnie Yen and co. ... gives me an idea for next list. :) Thanks for that. I wonder what they are upto now.
